My mate, who I met when I was about 17 back in 1975 going to a Town match or several, stopped buying season tickets a few years back. A few friends have passed away, a few have moved away, but as Billy No Mates these days on the end of a block on Row Z right now, last season and this in particular, have made me question why I continue to do the 220'ish mile round trip, plus the journey over/under The Ainleys on our wonderful public transport network. Other than to come 'home', 30-odd years after I left, every other weekend to meet up with family and friends, ultimately, it would be cheaper to sell up and buy something back ooop nooerth and pocket a few grand, but right now I don't need the hassle of everything that all that house moving sh!t brings with it either.
I said a few weeks back Town had a slack handful of home games to convince me to renew. One game apart, they aren't really doing much to convince me. I've been to two away games this season, probably my lowest ever since I was still at school. Brum and Shrewsbury. I normally go to all the Muddled England games at least. Take a guess where I won't be next Saturday? It could have been another ground to add to the long list ....
I could still come up and see the family and friends and enjoy myself on a Saturday afternoon ..... just getting refreshed.
Jon Worthington has made three changes to his side ahead of their Easter Monday clash with Stockport County at Edgeley Park
Brodie Spencer goes straight back into the starting side having been missing since the away loss to Charlton Athletic, injuring his hamstring in the final minute at The Valley. Josh Koroma and Ollie Turton are reintroduced from the start.
Midfielder Herbie Kane comes back on the bench to show me what it is he's supposed to do if and when he gets on the pitch. Balker, Miller and Roosken miss out
