Well play-off are now gone and to be honest I have always preferred being a big fish in a small but far more entertaining pond, than a minnow laughed at by all. Don't get me wrong if we were going to go up with a fighting chance of doing something, then yes, but to get promoted just to lose every week is soul destroying.
As for TM does he does another 2 years on his contract, so I think we have to hold onto him, unless we have someone better waiting to sign, I would not like to see us sack him and then go looking around for someone who may not be there. Plus I do have a fleeting hope that the old TM might turn up, though I did wonder on a couple of occasion watching him in interview if his heart was really in it.
I really don't know what he was trying to achieve with constant swapping and changing this season, he was looking 'desperate' to find a winning combination, and you cannot base that on one try. The squad were hit and miss as well, I don't think one of them with perhaps the exception of Maja and Heggam (and even he had a couple of questionable performances) could honestly say they had a good season. I think the team performances as a whole took an obvious downward turn after Palmer left, perhaps the squad felt the demonstration of a lack of ambition as I did, when you let one of your top players go, when in such a strong position to get into the Premiership.
More concerning now, is next season, more stronger teams in the division, coming from both ends, and a squad rebuild again required, I dare say built around Price as we will not be able to afford anyone better. Better hope that gamble on Bany comes off as well.
