There was a bit of discussion around this in the New Year thread.

If he goes, I'd wish him well and thank him for the job he's done under tough conditions in turbulent times.

Valencia is a big club, his local club and if his wiki page is to be believed, where he played as a youth. So I can see the attraction.

However, as I said in the New Year Thread, I'd be far less disappointed about it now than if he'd been poached in the summer, based on what we've served up this season.

Despite us recently returning to winning ways, I think this season's football has become a bit long in the tooth. For me, we're not going up or down, so it's been a chance for us to attempt to transform our playing style and play something a bit more entertaining. Sadly, I'm not sure Carlos could give us that as his style seems quite rigid.

So I wouldn't shed any tears if he left.

That said, we could do a lot worse than Carlos. So we do need to hope Shilen and the Bilkul group know what they're doing when replacing him.

If they do a good job, maybe we'll see a return to better football while pocketing a few million to help steady the ship. Time will tell, but he will leave with my blessing if he goes.

So it looks as though CC is going, I am disappointed as I think he is the best manager we have had since Mowbray. 

Not surprised he is going back to Spain and to where he has family connections, as I think that will too good an opportunity to miss. 

Who do we want to take over the manager spot. 

My choice in order would be:-

Moyes (steady underrated manager who can work within a budget, and builds a team)

Ole Gunnar solksjar (done well previously and a chance for us to find more players like heggem, plus I would like to give him some time to build on what’s there)

David Wagner (knows his way round the championship and even found success in the premier league)

After those three I think we could do a lot worse than bringing Tony Mowbray back. 

So I am choosing people who are free, as I would like the CC fee to go into squad improvements.
