Well, we got over one hurdle: after a club record streak of consecutive draws, two goals and a lot of tenacious defending were enough to break the cycle in our favour at Hull a fortnight ago. But now comes the hard part: doing it all over again at home.

The records have really been tumbling for Albion in the last couple of months, and not in the best of ways. The seven matches played at the Hawthorns so far this campaign have yielded a total of just three goals for or against; in the entire 136-year history of the Football League, no venue in the country has ever seen fewer across the opening seven fixtures. And since all three of those goals came by 1st October, we also stand on the verge of equalling another record: only three teams in the Football League (Wrexham in 1978, Bristol City in 2000 and some orange mob in 2016) have ever produced four no-score draws on the bounce on home soil. In terms of end product, we make George Graham's Arsenal look like total football. There are *Italians* who'd find our matches uneventful. So it's a golden opportunity to break the seven-week duck as Norwich visit on Saturday afternoon.

The Canaries are struggling themselves, with three defeats on the spin going into this one; moreover, they've lost their last two league games at the Hawthorns, and could make it three in three visits for the first time since the 1990s if we can only find the net. But they carry their own threat in the form of Spanish winger Borja Sainz, whose eleven goals so far mark him out as the biggest concern for our injury-ravaged defence. Even if Hull marked a resurrection in our own form on the road, we can't expect too much from our trip to table-topping Sunderland on Tuesday night, so Saturday has to be the target for a result this week; but with the way things have been recently, we might end up having to be patient a little while longer.
