We're so one dimensional and slow it's unbelievable.
Our centre halves are all limited, you can manage one being so, but three with helik still to return who is even more so. Only lonwijk looks to have some ability on the ball, but it becomes pedestrian because every player in front of him is either limited or one dimensional, I'd say not one of our midfield or forwards have movement off the ball, it's predictable and markable, doesn't really matter what level, it's telegraphed.
Our midfield lacks creativity and spark, no one will grab the game by the scruff of the neck and say right, I'm changing this. It takes three, slow, pedestrian passes to achieve what one simple pass could. It happened yesterday, wiles had a pass to turton on, but instead it went back to kasumu, over to Pearson, on to turton, by then everyone has regrouped, we're at walking pace and it all becomes ineffectual and has to go back to being passed around in defence before a hopeful long ball. There's no zip, there's no give and go. Theres no pace in our play and hardly any in our squad in general.
The strikers are useless really, you pretty much have to pick the least useless out of the lot, which despite all his hammerings ward and Healey are the two, mainly because they have some semblance of a chance of scoring.
Is it tactical, is duff setting out to build up play slowly or is it the players that are incapable of playing quicker. Is it some players can do it, but don't trust the others to be capable of doing it.
If it's tactical then duff needs to work different ways out otherwise we'll be inept and impotent. If it's a squad thing then those serious questions need to continue being hammered around or we need duff to earn his keep and work out a better system to get the best out of players.
I would say or again and say we need Cartwright to earn his wage and get the right players in but thats DOA.
