You didn't play at all. It does happen in all levels of football, and quite often only the final whistle stops it. I hope it doesn't happen to Chesterfield against Horsham.
Maxwell was mildly fouled for the goal, but no one was going to reach the ball to head it and his hand was a foot below the level of the bar when the ball went in. Simultaneously jumping and shrinking is a skill. It was the effect of you conceding so many throw-ins and pressurising him that caused it I'm sure. Chapman's place looks safe.
I thought Lees, Ward and your expensive Serb barely looked worth 2/10. Headley, Maxwell, Turton, Pearson and Wiles (who perversely lacked any wiles and thought a dead ball was an opportunity to pass to their keeper) might have acheived a 3. Iorpenda looked promising and tried so I'd give him 5, and Lonwijk gave every impression of being able to play but was clearly very surprised to be there and even he couldn't judge the bounce. How you could avoid turning to Ladapo and Koroma at half time beats me. Herbie Kane came on and caught whatever the rest of the team had contracted. Why were you so s l oo o o wwww w?
Tamworth didn't even play well. Their throw-ins were great. They challeneged and disrupted you well, but you were well up for disruption from the start. Last season we beat Portsmouth who really didn't play, but at least you could tell they were a decent team on a big off-day and we did play well. You didn't even look decent last night and there I was hoping you'd win and that we might draw you in boring Round Two .... and we could have a nice line in banter. OMG maybe we'll play like you. None of YOU deserved that - but I'm afraid the team did.
