The Fitness Test
After missing Saturday’s draw with Middlesbrough through illness, Stefán Thórdarson is now back in training and will be in contention for this cup tie.
One man North End will be without, though, is Will Keane as he continues to nurse a slight hamstring injury, which manager Paul Heckingbottom is not willing to risk.
Other than that, it’s a fully-fit squad, with Liam Lindsay also back available after suspension.
The Cottagers
Since their promotion to the top flight in 2022, Fulham have established themselves well as a Premier League side with tenth and 13th-placed finishes.
Under the management of Marco Silva, the Cottagers will be looking to build this season and they’ve made a steady start to the campaign, beating Leicester City and drawing to Ipswich Town and West Ham.
Silva made wholesale changes for the last round as they beat Birmingham City, but there was certainly no lack of quality in the side which started, with Raúl Jiménez, Sander Berge and Harry Wilson among those involved.
The Officials
[
Referee: Bobby Madley
Assistant Referees: Darren Williams and Greg Read
Fourth Official: James Bell
Bobby Madley will take charge of Tuesday night’s fixture, which will be his second PNE match of the season.
The referee, who has overseen several North End matches over the course of his career, was the man in the middle for the curtain raiser against Sheffield United.
So far this season, Madley’s shown 14 yellow cards in four matches.

Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?
