The question I can`t help asking myself is whether Lewis Gordon is a better left-back than Bailey Clements. I know precious little about him so can`t provide myself with much of an answer, but with all due respect to him - and to us - a career progression of Arsenal - Brentford - Bristol Rovers - Chesterfield does seem to be heading in slightly the wrong direction. If I`m doing him an injustice there, I apologise to him unreservedly.
I always thought BC did a decent enough job for us when called upon and I was highly impressed by the tone and content of his valedictory message, as reported in the DT. It had a touch of class, I thought. I wish him well and hope he goes on to have a great career that convinces us we made a mistake in letting him go.
