I was reading a very good article about Middlesborough and Karanka this morning The chairman needed a new manager but the usual names of suspects kept coming up. He realised they needed a change of direction and there down the list was Karanka. They met him and obviously they liked what they say and heard and gave him the job. Karanka said "I don't know about the past here but we have brought our own methodology and forward planning". Fierce commitment to discipline, shorter, sharper training sessions, punctuality and team shape have all contributed to the material difference the manager has made.

This is what we should be looking for, he doesn't know the history of the club but respects it. He is not weighted down by it. He is looking at keeping the culture and add a few foreign imports. They had 7 English players playing when they bet Man City. I was surprised he mentioned team shape as an area they really looked at but it shows how important an area it is in the game this day and age.

We are stuck with 442 and sinking. The chairman has a massive decision to make here and really should be looking an talking to managers now !!!
