I think the thing which was the game changer was losing Doyle to Cardiff on deadline day and not replacing him, instead we played upfront till the end of the season with Clucas. If we had kept that team together after the 2014-15 season and found a replacement for Doyle then we might have had another crack at L1 but the team was broke up and players sold after Cook left for Portsmouth and we ended up hiring THE RELEGATOR who didn't last the season and it was Danny Wilson who came in to keep us up in L1 which he did, he was then sacked the following season due to not great results after a loss to Bradford City around January 2017. I still believe if Wilson had stayed we would have stayed up in L1.

Caldwell was brought in who took us down because he was obsessed with playing 3 at the back and the same happened in L2. I remember when we brought Jack Lester back as manager, he had to sign fullback's because we had none under Caldwell.

The last 6 years in non-league have been difficult but not uneventful to say the least. Forget a Disney or Netflix documentary, you could have a 6 part ITV Docu-Drama about our time in the National League.

I listened to the game on 1866 Sport and wished I was there. I'm not going to lie, I did get emotional when the final whistle went. I've seen us lift the L2 title twice (also seen 4 relegations as well) and seen some great moments and upsets like the Carling Cup run of 2006 which sticks out and some FA Cup giant-killings but this one I think was more important than any of those. These times don't come around too often for clubs like our own and we should cherish these moments and saviour them.

I think the future is bright. The Trust deserves a lot of credit for taking over the running of the club and essentially saving us from going out of business. I think the club is in safe hands with the Kirk Brothers going forward.
