Life in your own country will become untenable unless you bend to it.
There are dozens of stories like this. From high profile people like Hitchens and Rushdie to the everyday citizens.
There's no 'just moving forward'. The community won't forget and will try to kill you, waiting years if need be.

Most of us,if we're honest are already walking on eggshells and tiptoeing around what's said and done in day to day life, because we know it's the only way to enjoy peace and quiet but actually think about that for a minute.

Why are people living in fear of offending a 'peaceful' religious cult, I mean group?
Quietly conforming to a hostile religious group's culture is only going to make things worse in the long run.. there will be more and more concessions given on our parts.
It's already happening, it has been happening for years.

Its strange times when Putin is the one who understands how to deal with the situation.
