Me, I'd rather Albion play Championship Football than, if (say) Jeff Bezos or the Saudi King bought us as a toy.
I've gone off Football generally (not the Albion!!) and hardly recognise 1/2 the Arsenal, City, or Liverpool players!
Your spot on with hardly knowing the big clubs players. The family feeling amongst them must have been lost. Replaced by bragging. I still feel a baggies lad after many years.
They aren't that brilliant even the European clubs The Spanish - French - Italian who spend very little on players give them a hard time.
Football has changed from a family institution to a passing event to a lot of folks now.
As for rich owners, they may own the shares but the clubs belong to the fans
