Port Vale have signed Liverpool centre-back Rhys Williams on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 22-year-old has played 19 games for Liverpool, appearing in the Premier League and Champions League in 2020-21.
He has also had previous loan spells at Kidderminster, Blackpool, Swansea and, earlier this season, Aberdeen.
"He comes into the squad and instantly enhances our defensive options with the quality that he possesses," said Vale manager Andy Crosby.
"This loan signing is yet another example of clubs at the elite level seeing the way that we treat the players both on and off the pitch and the way that we play as a team, and ultimately seeing Port Vale as an ideal home for their future talents' development."
Williams, who is 6ft 5in (1.96m) tall, is Vale's second loan signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of midfielder Jensen Weir from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Defender Kofi Balmer has, however, left the League One club after being recalled by parent club Crystal Palace, having made 16 appearances this season.
