You go into a café and buy two coffee’s but drink only one; the other one is for somebody who cannot afford it. A person without money can come along later and ask if there is a sospeso going and benefit if there is. Wouldn’t it be great if we had a similar thing with football tickets? You buy your own ticket and put a few quid in to a sospeso fund for fans who can go but cannot afford it. They can then ask for a sospeso ticket, if any available, when they turn up at the ground. Too difficult to organize? Too open to abuse? Might get full attendance though…especially the club matched donations with money from the TV rights?
Similar to something I was reading last year about Jon Bon Jovi opening a restaurant in his hometown; pretty basic food on offer, but you pay whatever you can afford for your meal, and if you're absolutely skint then you can work the restaurant - washing pots, clearing tables etc - in return for food.
I wouldn't object to mowing the pitch after the match in return for a free ticket!
