Over 1,700 supporters travelled from Edinburgh to back the Hibees and went home happy as goals from Jair Tavares and Lewis Miller sealed all three points (despite a late goal from Dundee's Owen Beck).
From Nick Montgomery -
“I’m really pleased with the performance on the whole, it wasn’t perfect, but I thought some of the football in the first half was a great example of what we want to do. I was really happy for Jair to finish the first goal off because he’s been putting so much effort in, he has been improving week in, week out, and there couldn’t be anyone better to finish that move off. At 2-0 I thought we still had chances to kill off the game. When you’re then down to 10 men away from home, the crowd are going to get behind them, but our fans were there to push us on. They were fantastic today; you could really hear the noise and the boys really respect that. Towards the end, Dundee put the pressure on, we stood strong, put bodies on the line, and David Marshall was there when we needed him.
Anyone that’s watched us over the last 10 weeks will have seen that kind of build-up from goalkeeper to finishing with a shot or pass. When it finishes with a goal then everyone sees it, but there’s been so many times where we’ve lacked the final pass, finish or made the wrong decision in the final moment. I’d love to watch it back but seeing it live, it was a great team goal. It shows how we play, and we will continue to build on from that.”
