Only capitalism rewards failure to such a degree, 'Golden Parachutes' and many other ridiculous terminologies for giving vast sums of money to those that achieve & produce nothing!!

That really is silly money we're talking about, where's the incentive to really try? Once you've made it up to the PL, you're telling yourself it's not such a bad thing if you get relegated, yet not so long ago it was massive heartbreak for club and fan alike

There's almost as much money in football as there is in politics, and the two aren't far off becoming one and the same.

The key is to relegation is how you manage it.

If you manage it correctly, you can use it as a springboard to getting back in the PL but with a stronger team. Both Bolton & West Brom used the parachute payments to build a PL squad.
