Football translation, can't score goals and keep conceding them, thats really not a good recipe!!!![]()
Big game for both teams, you need to get back on track somehow, a scrappy 1-0 win with the ball going in off Boyd's arse will do!! For them, if they want to catch you they need to win this one!
We're more capable of keeping the ball now, we've got some decent link up play in midfield and our full backs are more balanced with Wallace working harder at the back on the left and Foster finally learning to use his pace to attack on the right. As you say though, it's the important things we're still missing. But we've at least stopped playing the hopeful long ball game under McDowall and although our final ball is still crap we're getting in behind defences to cross more. I think if we start scoring goals half the problem at the back will disappear too because there won't be the fear that if we lose a goal we lose the game. Of course it would still help if we could get the personnel sorted out a bit and play the right players. Drop Black and McCulloch and it would make a huge difference. I'd rather see Clark in there than Miller too.
It basically feels like we're in pre season mode, trying to shake off the rustiness, iron out the kinks and get the players working together. In a way it's only to be expected with a new manager in place who is actually making changes even if they're mostly quite subtle. Will we improve enough before the end of the season? Meh, not taking that for granted but it could happen.
