Not been on the Evening Courier website for a while, but belatedly spotted this one today.
Former Halifax (190 games), Yorkshire (4) and Great Britain (1) 'Loose Forward', i.e. No.13, Tony Halmshaw, aged 77 (died end of June).
Also played 104 games for Rochdale.
Played loose forward in Halifax's 22-11 victory over Wakefield Trinity in the first 1971β72 Player's No.6 Trophy Final during the 1971β72 season at Odsal Stadium, Bradford on Saturday 22 January 1972. I was there. Watching Thrum Hall and Town became a bit more of a challenge for a few years after this season.

A guide to cask ale.
