Well done jjamez given the fun you've had with the IT kit.
Those were a pair of cracking goals to finish off the season. Proper goals of the season material.
Well done all for staying up but really the club shouldn't collapse from play-off finalists to relegation strugglers over the course of one Summer. You can't blame everything one one coach and a couple of players leaving the club. The management from "Top" to "Just Below the Top" collectively weren't functioning as a team so if they aren't, how do you expect anyone else to function properly?
I've no sympathy for Reading, they knew what they were doing and they've taken points off other teams all season that they might not have done had they not gone out and signed the likes of Ince, Carroll and others that wouldn't have been exactly on minimum wages. This in blatant disregard of the agreements they had with the EFL.
Given the EFL see everyone's contract when it is signed by all concerned, it was obvious at the start of the season what was going on and the EFL have questions to answer about their (lack of proper) governance. Don't hold your breath on that one.
That said we didn't help ourselves with appointments in the head coach department either, so for me Bromby is first one out of the door before we decide on any players we let go or keep. He said judge him on Fotheringham, well we have, well I have if you haven't yet. Nuff said.
Don't win owt with kids? Well the kids have stepped up with Warnock in charge and responded to a manager that says "show me what you can do and here's how to do it better next time", rather than one that throws you under the bus for missing a tackle or not quite making a pass.
There's a few out of contract players I'd like to keep and quite honestly they are all the younger end rather than older. The likes of Ward or Rhodes are not going to earn elsewhere what they've been earning here, if they want to stay.
Bear it in mind because 10 league goals between them up front wouldn't get them a job down The Shay let alone a Championship team. Wasn't a fan of Rhodes coming back in the first place but he has worked harder than I expected for far fewer goals if I'm honest.
Have a good Summer all, go grab some of those inflatables the Reading fans might have left behind, how you explain some of them to the kids when you get in the pool is another matter.
Oh, for mid-table mediocrity.
I see a few grabbed that from the throws of a playoff spot this afternoon too.
I also see Everton are winning. Wondering who that might affect? Must go look.
