I would imagine a fair chunk of those top two were (and are) paid by the host club.

Got the reason for the booing yet Snoots?

and folk ask "Where did the money go?"

That's before you pay into pensions, managers/coaches/physio's/directors/office staff and all the other staff that you need to run a business that is otherwise called a football club. Then there's the travel, (yes I know the home team pays the away teams reasonable travel expenses, but it even's out over the season, it still has to be paid), the refs, the food and drinks, the kit (mostly sponsored I would hope, but don't forget the boots), the stadium rent, the printers, the IT staff, computer software and hardware, other match day expenses that aren't covered by "The Stadium Company", the vehicles (though company cars seem to be thin on the ground), the energy bills. It goes on as there are loads of "local suppliers" that also need paying for goods and services and generally these are the little guys that get hurt most if administration hits.

The last set of "books" in Companies House for year ending June 2021, Town had 71 players and 121 staff on the books, down from 77 and 176 the year before. When Warnock talks about relegation means job losses, this is where he's coming from. 50 former employees, whether full or part-time had to find other employment and this was our 2nd season back in The Championship. The next set of "books" aren't due at Companies House again until June and that will be for last season, not this one.

Oh, and don't forget that other barsteward - The Taxman. Yes I know why we pay taxes, I just wish we had a government that knows it too, but now I'm heading off in another direction.
