Disagree with this. Let's start with the fact we were not going to actually spend any money on transfer fees, that makes a January window difficult due to contacts running from July to June. Secondly he stated over and over again that he would only sign players who improved the team, he didn't want to sign secondary players, we have enough of them already. At the time we had 5 strikers, so didn't need anymore, we had 5 CHs or at least players who could play there, and we were alternating Vaulkes and Byers, so had cover in the middle. The change that saw a midfield 3 of Byers, Vaulkes and Bannan on a consistent basis made the cover thin but we all expected players such as Dele-Bashiru, Adeniran and Bakinson to keep improving and step up when needed, but that hasn't gone as planned for whatever reason.

On the subject of out of contract players, they need to perform to get a new contract either with us or someone else, they are professionals, they will not take it easy just because they are out of contract. Having that many players OOC for me is a good thing, if we get promoted we will need a number of better signings, and if we don't we will need to freshen up the squad as we did two seasons ago.
