CARDS ON THE TABLE

I'd love to say I like Grimes because he's brave and tough and a great example. I can see why he's captain, but he has these flaky misjudgements and whenever our defence looks to be in trouble it seems he is out of position or making a mistake. I kind of like him but would never want to play behind him.

I'm sorry but Fitzsimmons looks to me as though he learnt to keep goal online. He doesn't look or feel like the real deal. His best feature is that Wrexham, County and Woking all have fairly shitty keepers too. I know we will head into a play-off game, maybe even a final with him between the sticks, but he's not even in the same class as Grant Smith, and we let him go .......

I'd like us to play 4-1-4-1 bringing in Dobra to join Mandeville Dallas and Colclough behind McCallum, but that would mean our ball winning defensive midfielder would need to be able to run and we'd need to be confident that the centre of our defence could cope. I think the defensive midfield pairing is an admission that we know our defence is fallible.

As to a non-scorer up front, look at Wolves. In the days when Jimenez scored regularly they were challenging on the edge of European qualification. Now since his terrible injury he doesn't score they play the football, don't get the goals and tend to struggle .....
