Another bad day at the office for the Scotland Juniors, the Women losing their only game against Switzerland by a massive score of 2-10 after only 6 ends. They lost counts of 4 shots in the 4th and 6th ends, leaving them no option but to concede and get off the ice as quickly as possible. Tomorrow's games are against dangerous Korea at 8am and even more dangerous Norway at 6pm.
Switzerland are now the only unbeaten team and lead the table with 6 wins, followed by Japan, Norway, Scotland and Sweden on 4 wins, then Korea on 3 wins. Germany have 2 wins, but still have a good chance to catch those above them.
The Men fared little better, losing 3-9 against China, and after giving up 3 shots in both the 1st and 7th ends, they conceded too. However, this evening's game saw a much better performance against Switzerland, eventually winning 8-3. The Scottish team scored in the 1st end and kept the Swiss at bay all the way through and scored 3 shots against the hammer (not having last stone) in the 9th end. The Men have only 1 game tomorrow at 2pm against Korea, who are capable of beating anyone and must be shown full respect.
Germany still lead on 5 wins. then Norway, Scotland and United States have 4 wins. China, Italy and Switzerland have 3 wins. Even Canada on 2 wins are within striking distance of qualification, although they will have to hope for other results to go their way.
