I don't think the rumours of a valuation for the club of £1 does you any favours in attracting the kind of manager you need. The hint of Philip-Greenery will put off any manager who values his own CV.
One candidate? really? I think you should forget is Paul Cook. A lovely player who succeeded in management, but I fear he has now drunk his own barrel dry. You seem like a club in need of the kind of root and branch changes you might have got had you been able to hang onto Corboran. Chesterfield have achieved the kind of change the club most needed in ownership, but we needed to match that by root and branch changes on the playing side. Cookie is only interested in topiary. What you see is all he is ever going to give us. We might find a way back to the EFL on such shallow roots but, unlike Hartlepool, we'd need to be quick on our feet to realise vision was required to sustain it.
I think you need a man who is looking beyond a relegation struggle to a proper re-build. Of those you mention Ishmael and Wilder are capable of the depth of commitment required. Ainsworth is capable, but is determined not to look it.
