I agree with you wakey.
If I was picking a new manager, and what was said was keep us up if you can, if not rebuild and get us up next year, BUT, there has to be a clear and obvious game plan that the fans and players can see and get behind. Wagner did when he first came in, if we got relegated that first half season, he was going to manager in league one.
If it was that sort of case, I'd be picking Barry as my first choice, with wilder as my second, admittedly I'm intrigued by Ramsay and my gut says we are suited for Ishmael.
But considering where we are and the fact that his history does have him building good sides, I'd call Boro a blip, or hope it is, I'd probably say wilder even if he's my second choice. If I had to number a few candidates though;
1. Barry
2. Wilder
3. Ishmael
4. Smith
5. Ramsay
Although I do feel a few of the other names could do a good job here
