I think Ashley's been good for Newcastle. They are certainly no less successful under his ownership than they were prior to his arrival. He does what is necessary to keep them in the EPL. They are a mid table club that makes the occasional foray into the upper reaches and more regularly the lower ones. That's their natural habitat.
