There's a phrase we can all learn from - especially some of them we appear to have no control over but they want to appear to have control over us.
I met Bernard Cribbins at Myles Rudge's memorial. Myles wrote the lyrics to Hole in the Ground, penned the words Right Said Fred and wrote several pantos performed every year up in Glasgow. Myles was a lovely bloke. Bernard Cribbins seemed like a kindly old cove too. Barry Cryer who got very drunk made me laugh. My partner Malcolm knew them all. He died himself just before the pandemic and as these people pass it seems to diminish my own memory of that era, one of the many penalties of growing old and crossing out names in the address book.
