FT 1-0 Falkirk and not a result that Johnson really wanted TBH!! However, when one scrutinises this game more closely, he has changed half the team and I'm guessing that he is having a good early look at players who are either gonna contribute something to the season ahead or it is the exact opposite. He needs to know who's who and these games are ideal to carry out this process. I'm forgetting this match was played on another crap plastic pitch and that will certainly be enlightening for Johnson as they are not allowed in the official top FA affiliated leagues. The concerns re Bushiri remaining at ER Stadium certainly appear to be justified after some dreadful contributions in this match. Perhaps that is why Johnson fielded him from the start? Learn early and be wise to the situation. In the 1st half Hibs were "not at the races" with no forward player "servicing" Doidgy in the Falkirk pen box. The Welshman could well have sat on the subs' bench instead - no ball provision in their pen box (where it matters to score goals!!) whatsoever. Totally different in the second half - Hibs dominant, hit their posts three times, three goal line clearances and a tad unlucky not to win this match, let alone lose it! Anyway, a disappointing result, some very good saves by Dabrowski, but no panic re this situation. Hibs players need to attain proper match fitness and the prep time will be a long process plus Johnson having to eventually gauge what his best Hibs team will be. A Croatian left back, Cabraja, just signed up today. We'll see if he can eventually put together all the "pieces of the jigsaw puzzle" and come up with a fully accountable and competitive Hibs team.
