Stayley CC based in Millbrook, Stalybrdge used to live on Huddersfield Road between Millbrook and Carrbrook and could see the ground from my bedroom window, used to play one a side cricket with a lad called Michael Tracey who eventually made the Lancs 2nd XI.
Stayley 2nd's had a player who ifmemory serves me right had a false lower leg, could only field at slip and batted 11, technically got my first wicket by standing behind the bowlers arm as he ran into ball, batsman not overly impressed
