I've been a Season ticket holder for longer than I can remember (sometime back in the 80's I think) and BWF member since it started. By the time I worked out how to get to Luton and what it would cost, the tickets were sold. When there's only 1000 available and likely 5000 (or at least between 2-5000) are looking for them, there's never going to be enough to go round.
I know some will have gone to recently signed up BWF members not long term members, but if you'd have said Season Card Holders only, we've somewhere way north of 10,000 of them - they still wouldn't have taken long to sell out.
BWF costs £8.66 per month, my Season Card renewal was ~£250, so that works out at less than £30/month over the year or about £7.00/week. If you buy one at £299, combined it works out at ~£7.50 that you need to put away each week to pay for it all in one go, or in layman's terms ~2-3 pints of beer a week, depending on where you drink.
£30 is around the typical cost of an away ticket in this division.
