I can still recall "sounding him out" after a shareholders' meeting re the Hibs 1st team being totally leaderless for months. "Why have you not appointed a proper captain Paul, it's been months to find a proper leader"!!?? His reply was, "They are all quiet lads, there is nobody that fits the bill" lol!! 
So the solution is???? He left the club not long after that discussion!! As you say Jim - garbage!! I'd add clueless to that description.
