Just got round to reading this excellent thread and summary of the season jjamez. Brilliant, if only I could recall what else I did this weekend? Oh, yes - a football match took place in between me spending a lot of time on the M6 and that windy road over The Pennines.
Anyway- you might recall this table (with a few tweaks) from a few weeks back. As games went on I realised I'd a few home games where they were really away (or t'other way round), but at least I didn't have anyone playing L666s or Arsenal.
Also, I know WBA finished above Coventry and QPR but they were never in with a shout of the play-off's so sorry Baggies fans but I wasn't going to redo the whole thing even if Karlan Grant eventually found his shooting boots (and still missed a few penalties).

So, whilst Forest gathered most points, well, they also played most games, Town were the most consistent and the only unbeaten side. We only dropped points to QPR. To be only 8 points behind Fulham, after the early season home battering, and 6 behind Bornmuff (the 6 they took from us) after dropping more points from a leading or (score) drawing position than many, given the comparative budgets is a tremendous achievement.
Thus we proved the bloke at The Guardian was writing like a TalkSport presenter when he claimed Town were too inconsistent for a play-off place whilst writing his hung-over piece at Christmas.

The downside of this is that Carlos is nailed on the get the dreaded MotM award again - and we all know what happened last time. At least we aren't playing Millwall.
Bornmuff amassed the same points as Town, again from 3 games more, to keep us at arms length.
In the just missing out brigade, Millwall proved the bloke at The Guardian to be correct about not being consistent enough, despite having the "easiest" run in (on paper).
Otherwise The Blunts and The Hatters did what they had to do, whilst Boro, Blackburn, QPR and Coventry all fell away to finish in upper to mid-table mediocrity with The Baggies.
MK Dons just went out to Wycombe - it's not all rosy about finishing 3rd and 6 points above 'em.
