This is an honest enough assessment by David Gray, but I think he must concede to the fact we don't have players who are adept and confident enough to score goals regularly. The best example of this type of failure is Joe Newell, a vg mid player on his day, but I wouldn't bet on him scoring a goal for Hibs unless he was standing on the opposition goal line for a tap in - highly unlikely because he has no striker's intuition to get into that kinda attacking position. There was also a good example of this failure in the tv highlights when I watched James Scott's embarrassing effort to head a great cross ball from Doig - totally missed the ball instead of guiding it towards Livy's near post and a good chance of scoring. He bowed his head in total disappointment!! IMO a hard-working front man, but he doesn't have the skill or guile to convert such a good set up and score a goal.
