Sg doesnt play 4-5-1 anymore though ? so why would we want semi in a 4-4-2 ? the answer is obviously sack the manager and play 3 central midfielders from time to time !! but thats not going to happen this season , so take semi out !!!

I don't think 442 is neccessarily the problem though, its a rigid 442 with two wingers that is the problem. He could play essentially 442 with a diamond in midfield of Semedo, Hutchinson, Baker and Maghoma, let the full backs push up more and still play two up front, we have the players for this but SG is too stubborn to change things!!
