It's worth noting that Finland actually has one of the biggest land/reserve armies in Europe with huge armaments/ordnance to match. They've been preparing for such a possibility for decades. Amazing eh! Their govt politicians have still been aware of a previous war v Russia a long time ago. They never dismissed it as a one-off conflict although they obviously hoped that would be the case. Also the Finns have a long 1200 mile border with Russia. Couple that up with Poland's border with Russia and that becomes massive surround perimeter if Finland chose to join NATO even though they've had a decent association with Russia down the years. It looks like that relationship has been somewhat "soured" by the Russian attack on Ukraine.
