A couple of interesting notes from the match programme today. Bob Kelly's hat trick against The Wednesday was on his debut. The only town player to score a hat trick on debut. Many years later Duncan Shearer did on his first start, but he had come on as a sub in the previous game.
And on the same day as this match, George Brown was capped for England against Wales. Yes kids, international matches were played on the same day as league games. No international breaks back then.
