Once again curling comes first, but don't tell my wife! GB Men started the day with a 7-9 defeat against the defending Olympic Champions, United States. The team admitted readily that they hadn't played well and ran out of stones in the last end. However thay were back on form in the late game, defeating Norway 8-3 after just 7 ends, with everyone playing better, especially the 3rd and 4th players. The Men have a day off tomorrow and are due to play China and Denmark on Sunday.
The GB Women had another setback against Korea, losing 7-9, mainly due to the loss of 4 shots in the 9th end to leave themselves an impossible task. The Women play United States tomorrow and Denmark on Sunday.
It looks like it's curtains for GB in the Women's Skeleton, with Laura Deas in 21st place and Brogan Crowley in 22nd after Heat 2, with Heat 3 taking place at 12.20. Only the top 20 qualify for Heat 4 at 13.55 so an improvement is needed for that.
The Men's 15km Cross-country Skiing saw GB's entrants finish well down the field with Andrew Musgrave in 46th place and Andrew Young in 51st.
Both Matt Weston and Marcus Wyatt got through to Heat 4 of the Men's Skeleton, finishing in 15th and 16th positions respectively.
Huw Nightingale and Charlotte Bankes represent GB in Heat 4 of the Mixed Team Snowboard Cross tomorrow at 02.00.
Cornelius Kersten is in the 2nd pairing of the Man's 500m Short track Speed Skating at 08.53 and Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson take the ice at 11.00 in the Ice Dance competition. They are skating 17th in the draw.
Oh, and the words "Russian" and "doping" once again feature in the headlines.
