A sad one to start with today. On this day in 1934, legendary Huddersfield Town and Arsenal manager Herbert Chapman died of pneumonia, aged 55.
He had been up north, watching Bury v Notts County and then watched Sheffield Wednesday the next day, but returned home with a bit of a cold. That bit of a cold turned nasty after he had watched Arsenal's reserves and pneumonia set in. His illness was short as he died the next day at his home in Hendon.
More of the great man as the year goes on, he does loom rather large over Huddersfield Town's history. So to a more recent one. Ten years actually, on this date in 2012, Jordan Rhodes scored five goals in a match against Wycombe Wanderers. Five goals for Jordan, but don't forget who started the rout........super Oscar Gobern!
