Sorry to hijack a Terriers thread but thought I'd add................January 1st 1977, the old Hereford United were playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the second division. Chelsea won 5 . 1 despite the experience of Terry Paine for the Bulls. The late John Sillett was the manager at the time although he did quit the following year after another 5 . 1 defeat, this time to Plymouth. He did return to Edgar Street in 1990 for a season after his glory days at Coventry City in the 80's.
How fortunes have changed the 2 sides with Chelsea eventually getting the influx of mega money to transform them into a super power and Hereford United after this high water mark eventually going out of business in 2014.
Happy New Year to all supporters on this site.
