Our problem is not directness or lack of it. It is the rigid 442 that SG uses. It did for BL, AI, GM & DJ as well.
Bolton did us by playing 352 & dominating CM. SG just cannot see it. The pressure is off him because of a few wins but it is artificial because two of those were against Wigan & one against Blackpool, who are hopeless sides.
You do not need four defenders at home if you dominate midfield. We have excellent wide players in Palmer & Helan, who would make perfect wing backs. If we have three of Hutchinson, Semedo, Baker, Lee, Maghoma & Maguire in CM, we can dominate matches the way we did when Wilko was in charge.
