On a rather chilly Lancastrian day North End shared the points with high flying Fulham, which at the beginning of the game I would have taken, only disappointment for me was the fact we didn't get into them at the start of the game, took us 30 minutes to realise that. Fulham strolled through those first thirty minutes apart from the occasional foray's by Riis. They had taken the lead from anotyher deadball that we have conceded from, Seri kick finding Ream past some non too good defending. For a while it looked like a practice match with a ground devoid of atmosphere say for the singing from the Fulham fans, it looked like the game was going into an all too familiar scenario.
A mazy run by Van Den Berg changed that and we upped a gear and started to cause the Londoners problems although we kept giving cheap free kicks in and around our box which Fulham failed to exploit.
Second half we dominated, an early Riis effort was well saved by Rodak, before what looked like a red card tackle by Robinson ended Barkhuizen's part in the game
On came Storey who had a much better game than his appearence at Nottingham a couple of weeks ago, we scored from a corner Whiteman's ball in was headed by Evans against Riis arm and the rebound went back to Evans who shouldered the ball in, probably should have been disallowed but not complaining
Apart from a late flurry from them they didn't seriously trouble us and in truth although we piled on teh pressure we never really looked like getting a second.
Honourable mention too Lindsay, Whiteman and McCann, as for Riis he is becoming a seriously good player, Hughes also departed early bd Van Den Berg was booked think he may be suspended next week for the Plastics
Preston boss Frankie McAvoy told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"It was the least we deserved on the balance of play. I know there was a wee bit of controversy about our goal but I've seen it back and I'm not sure it was that bad.
"You always get some decisions that go your way and some you don't. I thought the challenge on Tommy Barkhuizen might have been a red card, not a yellow. He might have to have an X-ray.
"I'm just disappointed that we conceded from a set-piece. That puts you on the back foot. But I always thought we'd get chances - and it was great for Ched to come off the bench and score again. He's such a threat."
Fulham boss Marco Silva:
"That was a big mistake from the referee and the linesman. There was an elbow in there and then a clear handball before the ball goes over the line. It's difficult for us to accept, but again the referee had a bad performance.
"We've ended up losing two points, and it's not been our fault again. We had a similar situation against Coventry. But it's still an important point.
"It was a really tough game for us, but that's just what we expected. It's been a really difficult week for us, having to play until 10pm on Wednesday night and then coming here for an early Saturday match.
"That isn't an excuse though. It should be up to us to create more problems for the opposition."
