Reflect back to quite a few months ago when many Hibs fans wanted him "oot the door" because he's not a motivator and, more importantly, he's not tactically astute esp in games that become difficult. He "got the nod" from most Hibs fans on here mainly because he was "steady". At that time I commented I'd take back Neil lennon at "the blink of an eyelid" although I appreciated there are some concerns re personality and irrational behaviour compared with Ross. IMO Lennon is a better manager and he's better than most of the current managers in the Scot Prem. He has also won trophies! Study Ross's last two matches. In the match v the Tangerines he made no attempt to alter a game plan and team formation after 20-25mins - did nowt. He did the same v the Dons yesterday - his 1st move was to bring on Murphy in the second half, but IMO too little, too late although the change did make a bit of difference to Hibs movements up front!!
I expect a proper dynamic footie manager to change a team after realising it was all wrong during the first quarter of the match. I thought the pairing of Cadden and Gullan was absolutely wrong, but he did nothing - deja vu!! I also thought he could've changed the left wing back position for Doig to create chances on AFC's right flank esp in the last 20 mins when I thought that was a particularly weak area that Hibs could exploit - did nowt!! The plan A mentality was there for all to see - looked like he was watching a different game from most critical Hibs fans.
Lastly, I must say I watched the Darren Mac red card incident on a tv video replay and I'm baffled how a referee somehow ignored the Dons' defender clearly interfering, tugging and pulling the jersey to stop Darren's movement in their pen box - Aitken watched it from about 10 yards before Darren raised his arm - it's a pk all day long at any level of footie!! What makes it different in pro footie!!!?? By all means, give him a yellow or red card!! The preceding offence was even ignored by the pundits on Sportscene btw - as though Bates clear manhandling in the pen box didn't happen!! Darren effectively reacted to that offence, obviously shouldn't have done it, but his mobility in the pk box was being deliberately restricted!!! The ball dosen't have to be in an opponent's pen box for a pk to be called!! Also there's a similar incident in the match at Tannadice where a M'well player has a goal disallowed and been penalised for pulling/pushing down on the DU defender's shoulders - one aspect of Bates' offence(s) against Darren Mac!
