Hard to find many positives from this utterly woeful performance, it took us about 75 minutes to eventully brng Derby down to our level and when we did we probably had the best chance of the game which was wasted by Riis
Preceedings before the game were perfect a video montage of players paying their respects to the Owner and a minutes applause. From then on in it went down hill rapidly
In fairness Derby were excellent dominated the ball should have been well ahead by the break but were kept out by the great Dane in the goal.
We were pinned back for basically the whole of the first half, visits to the penalty area were so rare in the first period it could have possibly been classed as a holiday destination.
Morrison brought a save from Iversen which was destined for the goal, the keeper also did well to save a Lawrence shot, the Rams were in so much control that the old timers at the centre of their defence Jagielka and Davies barely broke sweat. Davies was excellent throughout
We mustered an header from Earl which went wide before on the stroke of half time Ebosele summed up our first half display by ambling 50 yards without the semblence of anyone wanting to tackle him, before being denied by the keeper. If they had gone in two up the
would have deserved it
It was more of the same in the second half although in fairness substitutions did make us better Sinclair was denied by Allsop. We had a let off when the Rams hit the bar and twice had goal bound efforts blocked in the scramble that followed
The last fifteen minutes we looked the more likelier to win it, a four on two break eneded with Riis missing a one on one with the keeper. With the last kick of the game Hughes forced Allsop into a save, take the point and move on, need to be better on Wednesday before the game against the simple folk in the land of the Tower next weekend

Preston boss Frankie McAvoy told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"First half, we were nowhere near good enough - Derby were superior, the better team. We were going to change it in terms of some personnel at half-time, but I thought the performance was that bad, they needed to go out and show they're better than they showed in the first half.

"Ben Whiteman and Scott Sinclair gave us a bit more impetus and I thought in the last 25 minutes we were better when we went to 4-3-1-1. It's been a sombre week for everybody, with Mr Hemmings passing away, and sometimes the occasion can get the better of you and that might have been the case."

Derby manager Wayne Rooney told BBC Radio Derby:

"We were the better team, had full control of the game, especially in the first half, and created some good chances but couldn't find that goal. It was a good performance, good point, but it really should have been three.

"We are creating chances so it's maybe a lack of composure, not being ruthless enough in front of goal. We have to score more goals, it's as simple as that, but the flipside is three clean sheets in a row, which is pleasing."
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?
