My personal stance on Managers (Head Coaches) is that their perceived effect on team performance is much greater than their actual effect.
Examine, for a moment, what they do and what they can get away with once they are appointed.
They pick the team, select substitutes, and listen to the opinions of their staff regarding training. They spend an inordinate amount of time with the media/owners/agents and generally giving the impression that the club is their creation.
Any average person could do this job.
Your main qualifications are luck, a thick-skin, and being a verbal bully when required.
Any seasoned squad player will have seen dozens of these “Managers” and grown skeptical of them all. They know that the two words “Yes Boss” are the only words required and the rest is down to them trying their best out on the pitch as they always do regardless of who is “in charge”.
So TP,AI,RDM,RH or whatever initials we currently have, it makes little difference to me; but if you think it does, that’s your belief.
