To borrow someone else's post - "Es gibt nur einen Gerd Müller" doesn't scan quite as well in German as it does in English, but it's not far off.
He "Mullered" England pretty often in the 1970's, that's for sure, in Mexico in particular. An after match crate wasn't unusual for plenty of players back then and in the 80's. Sammy Lee was apparently fond of a crate or two in a bar in El Arenal in Majorca on his summer holidays, so the landlady of a bar over there told us one night.
He's order a crate, sit on it at the edge of the little dance floor, get up for the occasional dance or chat to some footy fans that recognised him, until all the bottles were drained, then puddle off for "another beer or two" somewhere else or back to his hotel.
