I guess it depends on how you define “owe”. I feel at a basic level, he owes us nothing in that he has an employment contract with which both parties were happy and to date it’s worked out well. I believe it would be the same that any of us have/would have with an employer for doing a job. Where I think he does “owe” is if he is refusing to play which would be unacceptable; I suspect that would be a breach of the contract he signed and would entitle the club to withhold his salary - again the same would apply to us in a regular job.
He clearly wants to leave and we need the money. I think we should take the first realistic offer (anything above £20 million) and move on
