Suicide is painless, it brings on many changes, that's how the lyric goes isn't it?
Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Spurs, Chelski and the Arse join a Euro-suicide-pact. BRING IT ON!
To play football in the England a club has to be registered with a recognised Football Association. That's a has to be.
So let them set up their outside competition. DO it, do it, do it! Then ban the clubs concerned, as you would a player who punches the ref', sine die.
At that point the registration of players at the clubs concerned is no longer recognised by any FA, or their clubs. The contracts those players signed must surely become null and void, because they must contain clauses containing references to playing football and what their clubs have signed up for won't be recognised as professional football ............ So there will be little need to ban those players individually as they will become free agents in the eyes of every club outside the twelve; Rashford goes to PSG to link up with Neymar and Mbappe, Mane crosses the park to Everton, de Bruyne decides WBA would be a nice challenge.
If these clubs have no status then you need only enforce a ban on players, who later decide to join them. They will therefore have little or no youth programme and will suffer from declining on-field standards as players who stayed loyal simply age and Man City v Juventus becomes a predictable bore.
Better still these clubs will be removed from their leagues. So Six teams will be promoted from the Championship to the Premier, and so on down the tiers. So, yes the six best Non-league teams will be invited back into the EFL. And if we sign a centre forward to replace poor old Asante, Chesterfield just might be one of them.
And five years down the line FC United of Manchester will, be trotting out at Old Trafford in EFL 2, having won the National League and City of Liverpool will be preparing to move back into a deserted Anfield to start their new National League campaign.
