It's no surprise at all. The financial guys and plenty of big industry said make it easy for us or we'll move our business. Latest government advice to exporters is to open a facility on the other side of the Channel or in Ireland, the one thing they constantly claimed/lied nobody would have to do. 
They also claimed there wouldn't be a border between Ireland and Northern Ireland or one between Northern Ireland and England/Scotland/wales Well there was always going to be one somewhere no matter what lies Bodgit was spouting. The Eu were not going to allow a back door into/out of the EU market.
