LAST TIME OUT
FORM GUIDE
PNE 6 BRENTFORD 11 (Drawn last four)
Getting closer to the end this plus two others at home with a tour of the Midlands for the three away games, the last two games have given us to impetus that we sadly lacked towards the end of Alex's reign just wonder whether the players were giving their all but in time we may find out. A big welcome to Brentford who seem to be stuttering towards the end of the regular season four draws on the bounce have not help and are now having to play catch up falling 9 points behind Watford.
In this bizarre season the result at Brentford's ground probably sums up our season 2 down at half time win 4-2. Decent side these lot good individuals Toney scoring tons of goals not doubt will be transferred for millions this summer it's the way they work. Canos is a danger but they have quality all over the pitch.
FRANKIE SAYS
Alan Browne will be back obviously. Hopefully we will have one or two back in. We will have a look at DJ, Sean and Anthony Gordon this morning.
Greg will probably be another week or two, it's not too bad just a recurring problem. We want to be on the safe side with him.
You've got to give credit to the guys that have been on the pitch - they have done it. Alan will come in and be part of the squad, and we will look at the best way to get a result. He will be ready and available for selection. Confidence is a big thing in football - we've got to keep our feet on the ground, it's only a start. Those games are finished.
To be fair, it has always been there. Sometimes it gets a wee bit fragile when things and results don't go their way. We needed to find that energy and enthusiasm, and full credit to them they have done. I couldn't have asked any more of them.
The best way to go about it I thought was to go two up top and get the structure behind it. We wanted to create more chances and score more goals. After Norwich I thought we needed to look a bit more solid and so we changed it for Swansea and they did great.
It was excellent last time, but that game is in the past now. A lot of the personnel we had are not here. We've got to try and emulate that as best as we can and try to win the game. I'm hoping for the same commitment, enthusiasm and calmness on the ball. I thought we got the off-the-ball stuff better against Swansea.
The task is still to stay in the Championship, that's still what we want to do. But as I said at the start, we had eight games and that's two gone now. The next one is Brentford and we will take it one game at a time - that's exactly the way we are approaching it. We will do the same things, try to get better at what we are doing well and improve the bits we haven't done as well.
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?
