Oooh I grew up in the 60s / 70s. Prawn cocktails in a shell (glass at home) were the height of sophistication and I loved the taste. I'm sure you remember it, theo.
There was a sandwich shop in Dewsbury called Anne's Pantry, owned later by Dempster Lister's. They did the best prawn cocktail on white. For a change I might have a cheese slice in a currant teacake. Ever tried that? I don't know if it's a Yorkshire thing?
